Lørdag Dag 6

We woke up this morning to…grey skies, but at least no rain. Here at Skovsøen the weather does not keep us from work and play, and the girls were up bright and early and attending to their task of kitchen duty. From the looks of it, it is quite the process, but they managed to get all the tables set. Ask your kids what Muesli is! Beads were handed out, as is done after each meal to the villagers who have spoken Danish at the table. These are added onto the strings of their nametag, and all the kids are buildiing up quite a supply so far. We have had to acquire more white and red beads for this studious group.

The Norwegian camp was host to the 2009 Eurovision Music Contest Saturday evening, and the Danes participated with their Norwegian Cabin friends. Each Cabin had 45 minutes to come up with a dance to correspond to their assigned Eurovision song. The entire camp then met in Gimle for the contest, and councelors and villagers performed their dances to the songs.

The Danish and Norwegian girls performed to the Irish entry, and the boys did a high leg kicking performance to the Norwegian song. The Danish entry was performed by an all Norwegian boys cabin, and was one of the highligths. It should have won, but we think the judges were slightly influenced by the venue, and the Norwegian song ended up winning.

It is amazing what these villagers can come up with in 45 minutes.
