Gitte

Hej jeg hedder Gitte og jeg er leder og lærer på skovsøen! Hi! I am Gitte and I am a counselor and teacher at skovsøen. I have reallybeen enjoying working with the credit program. I have been working with the beginner level students. We have been working with basic grammar and pronunciation. We have also been reading from a collection of short stories about Molboerne, a group of people from a peninsula in Jutland. We have also been having fun preparing for CLVs  International Day. They will be preparing a 3 minute presentation for I day!

Both Lærke and I are  very impressed with the amount of Danish that is being spoken and the energy our wonderful students are putting into the program. They have been exceptionally good at working together with our Norwegian partners at Skogfjordan and keeping positive attitudes.

Lærke

Jeg hedder Lærke. I am credit facilitator this year and have been teaching the credit students. I have asked the students what they would like to learn about and what they find challenging, especially with Danish grammar, and have created a learning program based on their feedback. I have assigned the students different reading materials and have encouraged them to focus on the details to understand both typical Danish sayings and broaden their vocabulary. We have also been studying Danish Geography. Each Credit has chosen a Danish town or region, and has written a short project about the area. We will be seeing a documentary about the Faeroe Island on Sunday(in Faeroese with Danish subtitles, of course) to conclude this theme.

Tine

Just a few words from camp. Most of you know me already, but I thought I better let you know that all is well up here. I am acting Dean for Lis until she arrives on Monday, so if you have any questions about your children, feel free to write me at this address.

The first four days has gone by, and it has been a very busy time for your children. They have settled into the routine around camp, made friends we the Norwegians, and have already learned a lot.You will be receiving a letter from the Credit Fascilitator as to their progress.

The villagers have been taking pictures during the camp (that way you can see the days through their eyes), and Henrik has been kind enough to set up the Village Production pages, even though he is not up here for another week. Hurra for technology when it works. You will be able to follow along as the days progress, and the first 3 days have already been set up. Thanks again Henrik for doing this. We will try to keep the pages up without too much delay.

A lot of Danish is being spoken, and yesterday we had a combined program with the Swedish and Norwegian camps, which highligthed the similarities as well as the differences between our countries.

We enjoy having your children here and they are all settling in very well.

Sincerely

Tine (Solvej)
